Interviews with Victoria: Alexis, Johnathon, and Sebastian from Aconite by Christine Alvarez
Victoria: Another day, another interview. Today I'm hosting a three-some *big smile*. That makes two for this gal. Please welcome Alexis, Johnathon and Sebastian. Who are just dying to tell me their three favorite things about sex.
Alexis: Oh boy, I don’t even want to think about sex right now. It would hurt someone too badly and I cannot waste another life hurting those that care about me.
Johnathon: That is easy, even if you don’t want to think about it Alexis, it doesn’t make your answer any different. Passion, the feel of her *points at Alexis* and the love behind it.
Sebastian:The sound of my name being screamed to the heavens, her soft flesh in my hands and of course the feeling of her lips. *glaring daggers through Jonathon with each word*
Alexis: *blushes and tries not to hide behind her chair*
Victoria: *fans self* Alexis, it sounds like these boys have the hots for a particular female. Speaking of hots - hot candle wax or whips?
Alexis: What? Why?
Johnathon: Neither
Sebastian: As much as I hate to agree with him. *points at Jonathon* I’d have to say neither as well. Really great sex doesn’t need either of those.
Victoria: Interesting. Too bad, I'm taken. Otherwise I'd volunteer to show all three of you the wonders of both items. Great sex doesn't need those things, but interesting sex on the other hand...
Since you've been successful at finding love, what tip can you offer me?
Alexis: Successful *snorts* I wouldn’t call it that.
Johnathon: Success is subjective when it comes to us.
Sebastian: Don’t let her die.
Victoria: I'm sensing a little hostility and maybe too much sexual tension. This room is afire with it. Speaking of love, would you ever consider sharing your newfound love with another person?
Johnathon: *explodes from his seat* Not in this life or the next!
Sebastian: *rises slowly from his seat* I'd rather die then share anything with him.
Alexis: You should not have opened up that can of worms. *shakes head at both men now glaring at each other.*
Victoria: It seems boys will be boys.
*a few tense minutes goes by before both men seem to concede to the overly masculine staring contest.*
Victoria: Alright, I can see this isn't getting any less awkward and this is one case where I don't think my flogger will get submission... So final question, how does Alexis give you what you need?
Alexis: *looks between both men*
Sebastian: Alexis gave me hope. She still does to this day. She gave me love and attention even knowing that I had been cursed for all eternity. She gives me it in the endless hours of attention and conversation. In the way she abandons all others to be with me, a curse.
Jonathon: *launches out of the chair letting it crash into the floor and storms out of the interview*
Victoria: Okay. Alexis, how about you?
Alexis: This is what I give them. You can see it plain as day in this very interview. Heartache.*a single tear falls down her flushed face*
Victoria: And that wraps this emotional and turmoil filled interview. I can never say my interviews are predictable and in this case I'm feeling a little heart broke myself. Want to know more about this love triangle? Read on.
Blurb: Who knew a truck stop post card would send Alexis Davis’s life spiraling into a supernatural destiny predicted lifetimes before.
Gods, Magic, Fated Love; it was nothing that the shy, quiet
Alexis ever could have imagined existed.
Alexis had no desire to take over the family business or
follow in her mother’s footsteps, so armed with her life savings and a fresh
tattoo she takes off to the quaint little fishing port of Reedsport, Oregon;
where she meets two men that awaken something frightening within her very soul.
Dominant and dark Sebastian Gates and the sleek and sexy
Jonathan Evans pull her into a life where the lines between her past, present
and future become one.
When they both begin to take part in the dreams that she has
drawn comfort from, Alexis learns that none of them are really what they seem.
But they are not the only ones; she quickly finds others that play an intricate
part in what has come to pass and what is coming. If that wasn’t enough the
tattoo that she had placed across her chest has taken on a life of its own.
Leaving her in pain beyond anything she has ever experienced before. Through
her dreams and the men that cannot help but complicate her life further, Alexis
learns that she has a target on her head that has carried over from one life to
the next.
A dark coven of witches known as the Elektita believe she is
the one that will restore their powers taken by the Gods long ago. A prophecy
set in motion by her very own family line. There is one problem; her destiny
has put a wrench in the Elektita’s plans, somehow intertwining within a curse
that leaves everyone around her at the mercy of the moon.
Who can Alexis trust? The two men that have despised each
other for centuries or the powerful Elektita that wants nothing more than to
wield the power of the Gods?

Interviews with Victoria: Lyle Crane from Unraveled by Alyssa Breck
Victoria: Well readers today I have a bona fide rock star on my couch. Everyone give a warm, spanking welcome to Lyle Crane. You know I'm not fond of long hello's so let's get to it. Would you rather be caught with your pants around your ankles or tied naked to a pole?
Lyle: Ha! Around my ankles because when my pants are down I’m probably having a good time.
Victoria: I guess. Even being strip searched at the airport might be fun, if you're into that kink. My next question is far less sexual. Are you a love at first sight or love is for suckers type of person?
Chemistry brews between
Evie and Lyle when a gunshot rings out in the dark and the unlikely couple is
set on a collision course neither of them saw coming.
Lyle: Ha! Around my ankles because when my pants are down I’m probably having a good time.
Victoria: I guess. Even being strip searched at the airport might be fun, if you're into that kink. My next question is far less sexual. Are you a love at first sight or love is for suckers type of person?
Lyle: The crazy stalker chick in my story believed in love at first sight. Me? Usually, I’d say love is for suckers. But, you know, sometimes you meet someone who proves you wrong on that.
Victoria: *laughs* Sounds like you meet a lot of women who believe in love at first sight and I highly recommend you get some sort of body guard to protect you from stalkers. Now a little word game: When I say the word 'masticle' what do you think it means?
Lyle: Does that have something to do with testicles? Do I need a cup for this?
Victoria: You're very close. In fact I think you're the first person this month to almost get the answer. Unfortunately, no cups are needed, but I give you kudos for your imagination. Speaking of imagination, what's the kinkiest thing sexually you've ever done?
Lyle: Hmm. I don’t want to embarrass Evie, but there are some things we did that didn’t make it into the book. Like that time I handcuffed her to the guitar stand in my dressing room and made her sing, if you know what I mean. *smiles*
Victoria: Ooh, sounds like you're quite adventurous. Handcuffs are definitely something I enjoy using, but a securing to a guitar stand is new. Well Lyle, you've inspired me. I've got new ideas for my submissive Royce today. Final question: Tell readers in 1 sentence why your book is what they need?
Lyle: My book is What You Need because who doesn’t want to live out a rock star fantasy?
Victoria: Too true. I have some rock star fantasies I'll be enacting in the near future. Thank you Lyle for the interesting interview. For readers, browse below for more info on Lyle, his Evie, and a rock star fantasy.

Interviews with Victoria: Austin from Ember's Secret by Catherine Peace
Victoria: Today I've got Austin from Ember's Secret in my chair. He's a professed foodie and now I'll regret not asking him what he likes to do with food. Thank you for swinging by, Austin.
Now I won't keep readers in suspsense, let's jump right into the fire Would you rather be caught with your pants around your ankles or tied naked to a pole?
Austin: Uuuuuuuh……...pants around ankles. Definitely. Yeah. Ember doesn’t need any other ideas.
Victoria: Really? I'm curious as to what ideas she has, but instead I'll stick to my original questions. Are you a love at first sight or love is for suckers type of person?
Austin: I was the second type before I met Ember. I know, romantic and sweet and blegh. But true. She’s kind of amazing.
Victoria: All good women are, but you're right too romantic. When I say the word 'masticle' what do you think it means?
Austin: ...I know what a manacle is...and I know a couple different words that start with ‘mast,’ but that is a new one on me………...oh shit. Does that mean what I think it means? Like…..oh holy shit.
Victoria: *laughs* I believe I haven't seen that shade of pink before, and thanks to my flogger and my submissive I've seen lots of shades. On that note: What's the kinkiest thing sexually you've ever done?
Austin: Sure as hell nothing with a ‘masticle.’ But Em’s getting a lot more adventurous. She likes….using food in reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally interesting ways.
Victoria: *snaps fingers* I knew it. Chefs are definitely dangerous ones in the bedroom. Just imagine if she liked pain too. Mmmm... moving on. Last question for you: Tell readers in 1 sentence why your book is what they need?
Austin: Cuz I’m in it? Oh, that’s not a real reason. Because it’s full of everything you need--star-crossed lovers, secrets, an overprotective father (who I totally win over, by the way...well, sort of), and plenty of delicious food to go around. Nice pun, by the way.
Victoria: Thank you, and your book sounds absolutely delicious...*licks lips* For everyone else here's some more information on this tasty treat of a book.
Blurb: Ember only wants two
things out of life: to be reunited with her sisters, and to see people come
back to her café. Catering to people she never sees again, she experiences a
loneliness that can’t be filled. As one of the last Whakamanu—a
descendant of the Maori bird-god Tane—she has to hold on to the secrets of her
tribe. Family first.
Gourmet TV personality
Austin Garten, host of the popular show Back Road Eats, needs more in
his life than Breadbasket America grilling. He’s tired of the safe routes, the
easy and dependable foods that the Network loves to display. When his RV breaks
down in Wyoming, and he learns about Kai, a Maori restaurant outside of Casper,
his interest is piqued. Once he meets the proprietor, he realizes he’s wants
more than just her food. He wants her.
Ember isn’t too sure.
The Solstice, the Maori New Year, is fast approaching, and with the heat in her
kitchen ratcheting up, she knows she can’t keep her secret for much longer. But
will Austin be able to accept her? Or will her secret drive them apart?

New Release: Not Dead Enough by Mina Carter
Blurb:
There is life after death, unfortunately for
them, it's the same one...
Brett Perkins was a soldier, until the Project
killed him. Now he's finding that life after death isn't so hot. With the
Project base destroyed, he and his team have been tasked with running down and
destroying a group of rogue Bloods. Unfortunately the vampires always seem to
be one step ahead. Then they start kidnapping women...
Thanks to her soon-to-be ex-husband, Julia
Collier is despised and reviled in the small town of Greenwood. His stories
have painted her as everything from an air-headed gold-digger to a nymphomaniac
serial killer. She can't even shop in the local store without suffering abuse
from her fellow townsfolk, and that's before the late night calls or her ex's
bully-boys following her.
When her home is broken into, Julia assumes
it's her husband making good on his threats to 'deal with her for good'. She
never dreams that it will lead a descent into another, terrifying world. One
inhabited by werewolves, vampires...and zombies. Or that zombies could be so
damn hot. Espeically one certain example who makes her heart pound and all her
common sense disappear over the horizon. After all, what woman in her right
mind would fall for the undead?
Unless the undead aren't dead at all, but something
more than human, from a world she'll need all her wits and new abilities to
survive the battle between the undead...and the dead.
Project Rebellion: They're not heroes, they're
something else... They're SARAs and they're about to kick ass.
Buy Link:
Excerpt: Brett Perkins had always believed in life after death. He’d just never thought it would be the same one.
It was a question he’d thought about a lot.
Occupational hazard. Up to a few months ago he and the three others in the room
with him had been soldiers. An assignment to a base in the ass-end of beyond
had seemed like a dead-end move for his career. Until he’d realized that he’d
been sent to a top-secret project. One so classified that he’d been told most
of the higher-ups didn’t even know about it. That knowledge had puffed his
chest out until he’d figured out the truth. The Project was top-secret for a
reason. Genetic experiments on soldiers didn’t go down so well with anyone who
had a conscience.
Now he was neither human nor
alive.
And life after death sucked hairy-ass donkey
balls. Gigantic ones.
“Would you hold still?” he demanded. He squinted,
trying to match up the torn flesh on the arm of the man sitting in front of him
so he could staple it shut.
“Sorry. How’s this?” Evan Fredericks, their
section leader, altered his position so Brett had better access. For some
reason Brett had found himself designated the team medic. Which, given their
newly dead-but-not-dead state, meant he got to get busy with the office
supplies.
“Perfect, thanks.”
Ignoring the white of the bone deep in the
wound, if he could even call it a wound since it didn’t bother Fredericks at
all, Brett pulled the ragged edges together and pressed down quickly with the
stapler. Stolen from the desk behind him, it was bright pink, with a happy face
and some chick’s name on it. Sophie. He grunted. Nice
name.
Wrapping a length of stretchy bandage around
his handiwork, he tapped Fredericks on the shoulder. “Okay, good to go,” he
said. “But you’re gonna need to eat something soon, to seal that
up.”
A grimace crossed Fredericks face momentarily.
Brett ignored it as he moved to root through the drawer of a nearby desk for
more staples. Some elements of their new natures were taking more time to
adjust to than others, but the need to eat was one Brett suspected none of them
would ever get used to.
Because they weren't talking about hitting up
the local diner and chowing down on a burger. In fact, just the thought of cooked
meat made his stomach churn, even if his brain told him he wanted
it.
No, their new bodies needed something else to
power and repair them. To stop their dead flesh falling into rot and decay.
Warm meat. Hot blood. Something that only
moments before had a heartbeat. Something with a heartbeat if the need got bad
enough. Either way, they only had a small window of opportunity. As soon as the
flesh cooled, their bodies rejected it and they couldn't
eat.
In a sick twist of irony, their dead bodies
needed food nearer to alive than they were. And they couldn’t avoid the need.
If they refused to eat, wounds didn’t close, and their flesh began to look
wrong. Like they were starting to decay. None of them wanted
that.
Dying wasn’t the worst of it. Decaying in your
own dead body with no way to end it all? That was a nightmare Brett didn’t want
to contemplate. With the Project always on their tails, looking to recover
their wayward creations, they had enough problems without adding to the burden.
Methodically, he searched the small office
they’d holed up in for anything useful. They’d torch the place before they left
to cover their tracks and remove any genetic material, just in case, but he had
to do something to occupy his hands. Keep busy. Anything to avoid
thinking.
He cast a surreptitious glance around the room.
Dominic Fletcher sat at a desk by the door, and Kelwood was across the room,
rocking to himself. Brett caught Fletcher’s eye and shared a look of worry.
Jared had been that way since they’d been infected, his only conversation about
his wife and child. A wife and child he wouldn't be able to see again. He was
dead to them now; he had to be dead to them. There was no way back to their old
life. Not with what they were now.
Fredericks stood by the window, rolling his
shoulder as he tested the range of motion in the injured limb. Despite the fact
that the cut had opened his arm to the bone, no pain registered in his
expression. Wounds didn’t bother them. No physical damage
did.
Brett looked down, opening and closing his
hand. He could still feel…touch, sense. But it was like their pain responses
had been turned off the instant the Project had pumped whatever crap they had
into their veins.
He didn’t remember their infection. All he
remembered was being brought in injured and wondering if the pitted ceiling of
the temporary med-bay would be the last thing he’d ever see. Then he’d woken up
in a cage with the others, and it had all gone downhill from
there.
The project had thrown everything it had to
offer at them. Bloods, Lycans…even Reanimates. Brett shivered at the memory.
Zombies powered by nothing more than the need to eat, their
dead,
empty eyes had always given him the creeps. And
they’d killed them all. Nothing thrown into the cage stood a chance. Bloods,
Lycans, Reanimates… Nothing stood a chance against what they
were.
S.A.R.A.
The initials hung in his mind like a shimmering
jewel. Self-Aware Re-Animate.
They’d turned him into a fucking zombie.

fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have quite the turn of
imagination after all...
(But she keeps that
sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a dream and she really
*is* an adventurer.)
The boring part: A full time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her.
