Who I am

Landra Graf consumes at least one book a day, and has always been a sucker for stories where true love conquers all. She believes in the power of the written word, and the joy such words can bring. In between spending time with her family and having book adventures, she writes romance with the goal of giving everyone, fictional or not, their own happily ever after.

How I review

*I'm currently closed for reviewing books on this blog and will let everyone know when I open up to submissions once more. If you've sent an email with a review request over the last 9 months please accept my apologies, as I've been closed since the beginning of 2013. I also believe honesty is the best policy and I'm regretfully sorry that I did not update or respond to those emails sooner.

For those interested in sending me books or the readers wondering how I can be so gosh darn perky, let me enlighten.

What I do: My review style is not the average. When I read I'm looking for a good story that I can get lost in, something that I don't want to put down. My internal questions are based on emotions, character connections, and plot lines that don't seem contrite. Stories must fit characters, and if I don't think a story does I'll say it.  Things have to be believable, and I always look for at least one good thing in each book I read. Even if the story isn't for me, I try to let readers know who the story is for. One man's junk is another man's treasure kinda thing.
I will be honest, and I will state my opinion. I do attempt to keep my comments respectful, my point doesn't need to be made with knives or whips. Whether you're a friend or foe, I will represent all work equally. If I accept your book for review, I will get it done.

What I won't do: I won't rip someone apart for minor grammar issues. Tear an author a new skin because one or two, hell, even three historical facts aren't dead-on. I'm not here to rip someone a new hole. Even if I don't like your first book, doesn't mean I won't give the second one a chance. Some reviewers believe in roasting an author for their work. Some believe that it's fair play or their duty to tear something down to the foundation if they didn't like it. I won't do that because I believe it makes readers scared to take chances on something they may love or at least like.

FTC Disclosure: All books reviewed have either been purchased by myself or provided by author or publisher in exchange for my unbiased opinion of the book. I have never been, nor will I ever be, compensated for reviews done on this blog.
